So here we go! Fin and I left California in the spring with the plans of creating a house project in Javea, Spain and we purchased an existing house in the Puchol neighborhood just behind the pueblo. Why this house? Not for the architecture. For the walkability into town; for the amazing views from the Med all the way around to the Hermitage, for the lovely neighbours who we've already met. In fact, for all the reasons you buy a house in a location, regardless of what this architect might expect as a project. And an important distinction about this project was set out by our good friend co-architect Eduardo: 'The permissions for work to an existing house (Obra Menor) is quick and will allow us to complete in a year, but starting with an empty site is a full-blown 'project' and could be two or three years until we see a house. So Obra Menor it is. Design is churning along in Sketchup and Layout- Stay tuned.
